A Call to prayer, January 2012

As we began 2011, we ushered in the New Year with a Solemn Assembly and, at that time, it made a significant impact on our church.
As we begin 2012, I am asking our church family to join me each Wednesday night for a season of prayer and worship. Our theme for the month will be from Habakkuk 3:2, “Lord, revive your work.” We will be asking the Lord to renew and revive His work in the life of our church.
There will be three areas of focused prayer for the month. First, we will pray for the Lord to move in the life of our church in the area of our inactive church members. Second, we will pray for the Lord to renew our commitment to reach the lost in Columbus. Third, we will ask the Lord for His leadership in discerning His direction for our church in adopting an unreached or unengaged people group.
We are living in some very critical days in the life of the church. Never has there been a greater need for the power of God to be upon His church. We are in such great need for the Lord to allow His Holy Spirit to move upon the inactive, unfaithful church members that have filled the rolls of our fellowship for years and are almost a forgotten part of our fellowship. I don’t believe that this is pleasing to the Lord and it impacts our church and her ability to be the body of Christ that the Lord desires.
We are in such great need to see the Lord renew His work in our lives in reaching the lost. It concerns me and grieves the Holy Spirit when we are not winning people to faith in Christ. So much of what we do is focused primarily on our body. We need to experience a burden for the lost: a compassion to reach them and a commitment to engage them.
Also, we have talked for several years on and off about our church seeking to identify a people group that is unreached and unengaged.
As we seek the Lord, we will come each Wednesday at 6:00 and spend time before the Lord in the Word, in Worship, and in Prayer asking the Holy Spirit to revive the work of God in 2012 in the Beallwood Family.
Please make it your commitment along with your family to be part of this most important time in our fellowship.
Grace to you,
